Genève Aéroport is the shortest airport transfer in Switzerland — the arrivals hall to the Pont du Mont-Blanc is a 12-to-15-minute drive, Champel and Cologny 20, Carouge 18, Bellevue 12, the Quartier des Nations 8 — which makes the difference between a good and a bad limousine service almost entirely about the pick-up. Rive gauche. The Old Town is closed or restricted to traffic — pick-ups are at Place de Neuve, Bourg-de-Four or the Rue de la Croix-Rouge. Rue du Rhône and Rue de la Corraterie are the banks and the boutiques; Eaux-Vives and Champel the residential quarters with the Parc de la Grange and the Hôpitaux Universitaires; Plainpalais the university and the Wednesday and Saturday flea market; Carouge the Sardinian-built town of restaurants where a car with a chauffeur is the only way home at night.
